Mogadishu,(insidesomalia.org) Islamic Jihad of Somalia attacked an Ethiopian convoy leaving at least 33 Ethiopian soldiers killed and about 11 others injured.
According to a Press TV correspondent, land mine explosions destroyed an Ethiopian military convoy in Yakh Bari Weyne of Lower Shabelle region on Thursday. The convoy was on its way back home.
Ethiopia recalled the column after the United Nations moved to evacuate its peacekeeping forces along the Ethiopia and Eritrea border.
In another attack, gunmen killed at least three policemen in the Taleh district of southern Mogadishu, a source said.
Following the incident, police arrested more than 23 civilians.
Another 42 people have been arrested by the Ethiopian military and government forces in several districts in north Mogadishu.
